It can be hard to know what to have or wear at a senior portrait session. I am here to help ease some of those worries. These should be in hand and ready by the time you have your session.
Any Jersey, Uniform, Sport Incorporated
If there are any sports, activities, clubs, etc. that this senior has participated in during high school, bring any sort of memorabilia to showcase during your session. You only get one chance to portray this part of their life. Jerseys, uniforms, balls, instruments, etc. are important to remember and have accessible. As well as any awards, medals, trophies that can be used as props, as this will make your session unique.
At least 2 Different Outfits
As a professional photographer, I would highly recommend two different outfits to wear during your shoot. I suggest a casual outfit and one formal/dressy outfit. This gives a variety of aspects to your images that makes it easy putting together a graduation announcement or other areas you may want to showcase your images.
Bring Your Parents or Close Family Member
This one is not a necessity, just a suggestion. One parent or close family member will suffice. I offer this idea because parents are seeing this photoshoot from the outside. They know this senior very well and can offer ideas of different poses, fix any hair or outfit malfunctions, and just help with anything the photographer or senior may need.
As a photographer, I am all about making a photoshoot go as smoothly as possible. I hope these suggestions are helpful and not overwhelming. They are just that, suggestions. If you do not have all or any of these with you at the photoshoot, that is totally okay too.
