Choosing outfits for pictures is something that can bring a headache to any sane person. I believe there is no need to go shopping for all new outfits unless you really desire and thrive off of that.

Below are some examples of families I have taken pictures for in recent years. I believe these color schemes complimented each other well. I hope they give you a good idea for outfits that you may already have in your closet!

Neutral Greens, Browns, & Blues

Soft Oranges, Creams, & Grays

Solid COlors intermingled with patterns & texture

What NOT to Wear

I strongly discourage any clothes that are bright/neon in color as well as clothes that have wording or large brands on them. This especially goes for family pictures. When photographing a group of people it is best to coordinate with the schemes listed above in mind. If portraits/senior pictures are what you're after, then those outfits are a different conversation.

I hope these schemes give you a better idea of what outfits to put together. The goal is to go for neutral or earth tones with some texture mixed in, but not too much or too busy.
